But I am very much interested in doing Masters and PhD in Mathematics. Could you please guide me how should i prepare either i should do preparation myself or join some good institute for coaching. Being a mathematician is my dream but behind all this what i had choosed and doing is my fear. Now i don’t want to waste more time. Could you please help me. Sincere Regards, Shubham Chadha LikeLiked by 1 person Reply It is nice to hear from you for your love towards mathematics. I know a lot of students from non-mathematical background, who are doing mathematical research in a classic way. You should and you can accomplish your dream, if you work hard and regularly. See Shubham first thing is our way to study. It should not be “passive”. Like studying books should not be a spoon fed by the author. We should not only understand the points of the author, but should make our own concepts too. We should study good books. You can go to https://parveenchhikara.wordpress.com/2015/10/14/books-recommendations-with-suggestions-for-iit-jam-maths/ to see a list of some good books. You can start with the topic which you feel uncomfortable. You can take coaching if you want, but if you do not do self-study, coaching would be useless. Good luck!!! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply Books you suggested are gonna take one through JAM exam only. What about interviews? Leave everything aside…what about the weak foundation you will end up with? One should have understanding of analysis and algebra upto the level of Rudin and Artin respectively and books you mentioned aren’t enough for this.
